Many people (like the locals) will leave early to get home to dinner, get the kids to bed, and generally prepare for the next day being a workday. If you have to pick a weekend day to go, then go on Sunday. Fri/Sat are the busiest days and in the summer it gets packed.
If you have a choice what day to go, go on a weekday. If you are from out of town and want to ride every single ride in the park in one visit then by all means get the quick que pass. So on crowded days I absolutly cannot stand to wait in a 45 min-hour line for a 2 minute roller coaster. However, I'm a local here and am used to going to the park on days when there are none or very few lines if any. I do not think the quick que pass is that much of a value (compared to the quick pass at say.Islands of Adventure or Universal Studios in Florida). If you're a healthy adult walking the few minutes from your parking space to the tram and from the tram to the park turnstiles is a breeze. I'd say the preferred parking upcharge is not worth it unless you hate to struggle with small children, strollers, etc.
